For its printed materials certified for the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Koninklijke Wöhrmann may only use paper and cardboard which has been processed from FSC-certified wood. The chain for an FSC-certified product always begins with responsibly managed forests. The wood which is then used comes from forests which have been designated over the longer term as production forest. Thus absolutely no primeval forest or other forests vital to nature are lost. The entire chain is certified by the FSC body. The chain begins with the forest and ends with the customer. Currently, this FSC certificate is regularly seen on wooden furniture and building timber, but now also for the processing of paper, which is (after all) largely a wood product.
The FSC logo speaks for itself and may only be applied to production where paper is used manufactured from wood from well-managed forests. This logo is protected and registered. The batch of paper, and thus a book, can always be tracked by a unique number tracing back to its production forest..
Not only forest protection
Not only does the FSC certificate consider the origin of the product, but also issues such as working conditions and other social aspects of the people who live in the forest and work with it. With FSC-certified forests this is always checked by controlling bodies which are themselves assessed and approved by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
Why does Koninklijke Wöhrmann opt for FSC
At issue is the future of our children and of the forests across the entire world. Koninklijke Wöhrmann would like to make its contribution to FSC policy. Investment in FSC does not impede Koninklijke Wöhrmann in its efforts to ensure a better environment and ensure responsible forest management. This is therefore why we provide interpretation to Corporate Social Responsibility.
