■ Do I have to deliver my cover as PDF or as JPEG, TIFF, Coreldraw or different?

We prefer to receive a print-ready PDF files with the right measures and with bleed.
If you like we can send you a template containing the measures of the cover.
We cannot use Coreldraw-files.

■ What is bleed?

Bleed means that the image, on all sides, is 5 mm larger than the actual booksize. At the end this will be cut off of course, but it is to prevent getting white lines after cutting.
Make sure that the bleed has the same color/image as the rest of the document. Using a different color as bleed will still result in ugly lines after cutting.

■Does it matter if I send my files on A4 or on 17 x 24 cm.?

It doesn’t matter. On 17 x 24 it is of course on the right size. If it’s A4 we have to scale it to 81%. Be aware that the text will also shrink and if it stays readable.

■ Can I submit my files in A4 format, so that Wöhrmann down sizes it for me?

Yes, but consider that, when we downsize it to the thesis format size of 17 x 24 cms., everything becomes 15 % smaller. So if you have font size 12 in A4 format, this becomes fontsize 10 in standard thesis format.

■ Can I still make some corrections after I have received the proofprint?

Yes, you can send loose PDF pages which we can import into the file. This will cost some extra because it takes some time of course. € 7,50 for each page(sent in one batch). € 55,- for a complete new file. So from 8 corrected pages it is cheaper to send a complete new file.

■ Do I have to add the blanc pages myself in the document.

Yes, it is best to send a file as complete as possible. If it doesn’t work, we can help you with it.

■ I am writing my thesis now and I am not finished yet (or just started) but I want to be sure that the print-quality of my document will be ok?

The easiest way is to send us a few “critical” pages in advance (text, illustrations, graphs). We print them and send you the result.

■ What is the cost for printing invitations(bookmarkers) and statements/propositions (the ‘stellingenbladen’)?

They are for free if you mention us in the copyright (Printed by CPI-Wöhrmann Print Service – Zutphen).

■ What will be the exact thickness for my thesis or ‘bookspine’?

This depends on how many pages it has and what type of paper you choose for it.

The tax rate is 6%.
