3D Jet Varnish Digital Operator based in CPI White Quill, Croydon, Surrey
CPI Group produces high quality books in all formats, using both litho and digital technology. CPI White Quill is the UK’s leading specialist producer of high quality colour covers, jackets & illustrations for all book formats. We also produce for supply to customers’ own binders or as part of books produced by other CPI group companies.
We are seeking a 3D Jet Varnish Digital Operator. Primary duties are to operate our Digital Spot UV inkjet press, producing UV varnished work at multi levels from 1 drop up to 3D High pile 100 micron on to our pre-printed sheets.
Working within the digital environment, you will be processing files through our PDF work flow and manipulating data using MGI Digital Spot Varnish Editor and Work Station Manager software. Duties also include the performance of all operator maintenance schedules, as described in either the machine’s operating manual or the company guidelines. This to include ink jet heads purging, PC systems maintenance, file storage and naming configurations; archiving of files and back-up to CPI Main Frame.
Essential requirements are: knowledge of Photoshop, Acrobat, pre-press abilities and computer literacy, with a good eye for detail.
Experience of operating Digital presses is preferred, although not essential.
In addition, you must be willing to be fully flexible to meet the business requirements and our customers’ needs. Applicants must be available for overseas training.
Hours of work
Rotating Days & Nights:
Days – Thursday, Friday, Saturday 06:00 – 18:00
Days – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 06:00 – 18:00
Nights – Monday – Thursday 18:00 – 06:00
