• Publishers celebrate at UK launch of CPI Quantum

Over one hundred guests from across the publishing industry joined CPI’s European and UK management teams to celebrate the launch of CPI Quantum yesterday.

Senior executives and production directors from many of the UK’s leading publishers gathered to hear news of Quantum, CPI’s revolutionary short run digital inkjet solution. PrintWeek tweeted that the central London event was attended by the ‘great and good of publishing’ with an ‘excellent turnout’.

Pierre-Francois Catté, chairman of the executive board of CPI Group, spoke about the Group’s European footprint and its investment strategy for ensuring the right technology for all run lengths. Alison Kaye, sales director of CPI UK, followed with a presentation on the benefits to publishers of Quantum technology for delivering high quality, cost effective, short run digital colour. She placed Quantum in the context of CPI’s overarching strategy to support publishers through the entire supply chain.

Questions were taken by a panel including UK chief operating officer Ian Smith. UK ceo François Golicheff and his Spanish and German counterparts, Xavier Valls and Dieter Simon, discussed the Group’s Quantum programme with guests representing publishing’s trade, STMA and B2B markets.

The event was also the first public screening of a video (below) produced by partners HP, showcasing the UK’s first Quantum.
